origins of emi's netsite

i guess we should start with why we made this website. (or "netsite" as we jokingly refer to it as) i suppose i just got tired of twitter and felt like doing my own thing. i've always wanted to have my own website and neocities seemed like a way that was easy for us.

it was pretty nostalgic making this site because the way it looks takes a lot of inspiration from a website mock-up we made for a project in school.

i wonder if "netsite" deserves some explanation. well i guess it's pretty simple actually. the internet is often referred to as "the web" or "the net". and website is a combination of "web" with "site". so netsite is just a combination of "net" with "site" instead.

as to why exactly we would use "netsite". i guess it just appeals to our odd sense of humor of using non-standard vocabulary. there's potentially an alternate universe where "netsite" was used instead of "website" and i think there is humor to be found in how the things that have become standard are really kind of arbitrary.

anyways there's a good chance that this website won't actually update very often unless twitter suddenly disappears or something crazy.

well you never know with that elongated muskrat.
